Free pick-up for x-rays over 50 lbs in Oceanside CA

Please note that we require a minimum of 30 lbs of X-rays for a free pick-up.
For your information, 30 pounds of film may seem substantial; however, it equates to approximately only half a foot of stacked X-ray material for X-rays in envelopes and considerably less for X-rays without envelopes.

Important notice for Oceanside residents

Please note that Oceanside is part of San Diego County.
San Diego County considers X-rays as Hazardous waste, but exempts them if it is recycled and appropriately recovered.
Here is how the County of San Diego refers to X-rays on its official website:
"Photo developer/fixer wastes containing silver or silver compounds are exempt from some hazardous waste requirements if the wastes are properly reclaimed and recycled."
This means that residents in Oceanside may not send X-ray film to landfills and must have it recycled. So if you are in Oceanside and have a small amount of film, you need to consider how to dispose of the X-rays legally.

Please be advised that we do not acquire mounted dental X-ray film within jackets, rather, we purchase this type of film after it has been separated from the jackets, in accordance with our standard procurement of all other X-ray films.

How to properly dispose of a small quantity of X-ray film recycling in Oceanside

If you have less than 30 pounds of x-ray film, we can still pick up and recycle it. There is a one-time fee of $30.00, which includes a free pick-up and recycling service.
We will also provide you with a HIPAA-compliant destruction certificate.

You need to place all your film in one box that can weigh up to 30 lbs. You can leave the film in its envelopes, but this only applies to medical film, if you have dental film, it must be out of the jackets completely.

The pick-up fee of $30.00 is for pick-up of x-rays in Oceanside, and also the same for the entire San Diego County only.
