How to properly dispose of a small quantity of X-ray film recycling in San JoseIf you have less than 30 pounds of x-ray film, we can still pick up and recycle it. There is a one-time fee of $30.00, which includes a free pick-up and recycling service. You need to place all your film in one box that can weigh up to 30 lbs. You can leave the film in its envelopes, but this only applies to medical film, if you have dental film, it must be out of the jackets completely. The pick-up fee of $30.00 is for pick-up of x-rays in San Jose, and also the same for the entire Santa Clara County only. If you would like to schedule the pick-up for the pick-up fee, please contact us by filling out the form on the right-hand side. According to sanjoserecycles.org, "X-Rays are not accepted in the County Household Hazardous Waste Program and cannot go in either the garbage or recycling cart", so even if you have a small amount of film, you can either mail the film to us for free. We can also pick up the film at a minor fee and dispose of it properly.
